Imagine that a new source of precious metals were discovered, from which they could be gathered so cheaply, and in such great quantities, that the prices of all precious metals per unit of mass were driven down to industrial-metal levels. How would this affect the world economy? What about businesses? How would it all adjust to such a great influx of historically rare commodities?

The majority of our knowledge is based on things that we are taught, not things that we have personally experienced. In your opinion, would the world be better off if we based our opinions soley / mostly on our personal experiences instead of assumptions?

I think this would eliminate a lot of the problems that we have in society, such as racism. If we did not assume things about other races based on things we are told / shown, we would instead judge each individual we meet seperately.

Is knowledge from experience more important than knowledge from other sources? If you have not experienced something, how can you be sure it is true or even exists?

What do you think?
